A visit from the Nelsons

Peter, Grace, and Jane are just a few days apart.  It was so cute to see them together!
The Nelsons came on Easter, the same day we got back from Florida, we got to do our traditional egg-rolling contest with them, thanks to Grandma Ricks boiling a ton of eggs for us while she was hear watching our kids.

Nice one David!  He just graduated from High School.
The winner of the egg rolling contest - Lilly!
 Our family on Easter.
 The Nelsons on EAster

This cougar was a little too close to my baby, I was glad there was a fence in between.

Alyssa and Allie, they were quick friends and didn't want to part.
Drew and Peter, he is a cute boy, full of energy and happy.
Brea and Laura, they were instant friends as well, it was so fun to see.

We had Michael at our house last December, but hadn't seen the others in about a year and half.  They live in Utah and we saw them on our way to our cruise.

Alyssa and Allie - hand in hand.
We enjoyed a fun game of kick ball in our back yard.  It was nice to have enough people to actually play a real game.

Get-Away

We were able to spend some time together in beautiful Florida.  We stayed at this quiet Lakeside Inn.  The very last night we got there just in time to see the sunset - it was breath taking.
The vegetation was amazing.  This was a garden we walked through, it was very overgrown, but still beautiful.  We just enjoyed spending time together
 An old schoolhouse from 1883!
We were able to hit the beach on both the west (gulf coast) and east (ocean).  This was a helicopter that flew over the beach wit ha sign asking a girl if she would marry a guy - so awesome.
We took a boat out in the mangroves, these trees grow right in the water, this was at the dock afterwards, we found a place to eat right on the dock.

This beach was amazing!  It was on the gulf coast - it was called Siesta Beach.  The sand was white and so soft, amazingly it wasn't hot to walk on either.  The water was refreshing and we even saw fish inside and lots of seashells.  The only downside to this beach was the crowd.  There was a lot of people, it is a great place for families because the waves are not huge.
Our lakeside inn.  We were created there the first night by a gecko and a frog on our door!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Brea practices her dance step with Peter before she goes.  Peter loves to dance and bops his head anytime he hears music.

This year the Daddy-Daughter dance was for K-6th grade, since Jackie is in 7th she was not able to go.  But she enjoyed dolling the girls up and anticipating their excitement.  Brea and Alyssa loved their date - DAD!  It was hard to share him, he was a much wanted man!

Peters 1st Birthday

The kids decorated his cake.  Brea spelled his name a little wrong, but he doesn't know any difference.

Oh the last year with Peter has been so much fun.  He is a funny kid with the cutest faces.  He can communicate well, at least the fact that he wants to eat.  He signs and tires to say "more" and can sign and say "ahhhh duhhh" which means "all done".  His day revolves around eating, he loves to eat and used to like the stage 2 babyfood, but no longer, now all he wants is exactly what we are eating.  He still loves his bottle although we have transitioned him into Almond Milk, and will wean him off the bottle soon.  He gives great kisses and can walk all over the place, turn around, stop.  He loves balls and can throw and catch.  He can go up and down stairs and really enjoys cleaning the toilet with the toilet bowl cleaner - which means make a big mess of water all over the bathroom, and add in the toilet paper for an even bigger mess!  He gets lots of attention and loves all his siblings.  I am sure he will be a fun big brother.
