Camping in Rye, CO

We enjoyed smores and Brea really enjoyed them, rubbing the chocolate all over her lips.  When you are camping and want lipstick, you use whatever your can.

We went camping with the Scaddens, Haags, and Scotts.  Alyssa had lots of friends and enjoyed playing with them.  Corbin and Alyssa made people and animals out of clay.

Baby Ila was so cute and peaceful asleep in her tent.

Lake Isabel was six miles away from where we were camping.  It as a little lake but very picturesque with mountains and trees surrounding it.  Jeff rented to row boats and had himself, Brea, Alyssa, and Orian to paddle them over to where the rest of us where.  He was not able to find us and had the 2nd boat attached to the first and was paddling for both, which was hard.  He ended up taking one back right when we found him.  It still worked out to have one boat.  The Scotts were able to got out on it.  We also brought our inflatable kayak that we just got for Jeff for Fathers Day.  Dallin had to carry it all the way down to the water, which was quite a ways and the kayak is pretty heavy.  Poor Jackie was on crutches for her hurt knee and had to wobble all the way down.  But once we got there it was fun and so pretty.

At the boat rental they had this old truck with flowers in the hood - a perfect photo shot!

Right outside our campsite is Bishops Castle.  This castle is amazing, but kind of scary and you can walk up to the top and there are spots where there is no hand rail and holes in the stairs.  But it was really amazing to see what he has built.  Brea, Dallin, and Peter went out on this suspension bridge, it was really scary as it is high up.

There was a great open field in our campground where the kids played a ton of baseball.  It was so great, they played without any adults for hours.

Dallin worked hard to make a fishing pole and him and Ryker tried their best to catch something in the creek at our campground, but to no avail.

We had tried to rent an RV for this campout, but it didn't work out.  It was ok because we just used Jeffs box trailer and brought out mattresses from our beds.  It was super comfy and we had plenty of room for everything we needed.  Dallin set up the tent for himself and enjoyed that solace.
