Jackie school had a big Roman Feast. She got to dress up like a Roman citizen and participate in games and crafts. She was very excited for this special day.
Her and her best friend from school. They have known each other since Kindergarten and happen to be in the same class this year.
Her class enjoying their Roman Feast. It was fun to watch the expression on the kids faces as they looked at what they were supposed to eat (spinach pastry, pita bread, carrots, grapes, ect.) I heard comments like, "aren't you glad we don't eat this kind of food". Luckily most of the kids ate the fruit and veggies, but they weren't so keen on the spinach and pita bread.
At the end they did chariot races. It was so much fun, the excitement was high. All the 3rd graders were out there yelling for their classmates as they ran.
Jackies team won! They got to stand and be recognized as crowns were placed on their heads. At the very end the teachers raced against each other, the kids were cheering so loud for their teacher. What a fun time and neat experience to see how the Romans lived.
