The enthusiasm wore off after the first mile. But then, a small log bridge added some excitement to the LONG walk through the woods.
This is one of the first hikes we have gone on without a stroller, it was really nice. Alyssa was a trooper and was about the only one that did not complain.
Brea, a bit hesitant, but was still able to cross on her own.
We were almost to the so called Falls, we were all ready to be there, and the clouds were rolling in. We needed something to give us push to finish. And it came, a wild strawberry patch. Oh, they were so delicious, tiny but delicious. It was enough to change Dallins very sour attitude completely around. He was so sweet after that, his natural personality.
We made it to the Falls! It wasn't quite as spectacular as we were imagining, but it was still a fun hike. We decided to stay in the trees and let the rain pass. On the way back it was sprinkling a little and we were all concerned for Alyssa. By this time, she was riding on Jeffs or my back. The rest of us stayed warm by walking, but she was pretty cold. Dallin immediately took of his "prized" best and wrapped it around her. He wanted to take off his tshirt as well, but I wouldn't allow him. He kept making sure she was all right the whole way back. It is wonderful to see my children willingly help on another. Tender moments.
