Pobal 2013

Pobal was in Alabama this year.  It was a beautiful place. Everything was so green and luscious.  The weather was not too bad, but it wasn't that hot when we were there either.  Jackie and Haley had a blast together, they did not want to part.
Jeff taught the kids a game where you hold hands and flip a coin at one end. If heads you squeeze the hand next to you. There are two rows and once the last person on the row fills the squeeze he/she grabs a cup of water that is on the end.  It was fun to play, and to watch.
The Ricks gals, always happy when we are together!
The famous Aunt Elly, amazingly holding two girls that aren't so little anymore.
This is my niece Elizabeth, she is so cute I had to snap a shot of her.
We celebrated my Dads 60th Birthday with a surprise party.  We gave him a binder full of letters/pictures from all the Pobalers!  He had a enjoyable evening reading it with his family gathered all around him.  We all love him for the great person he is and all that he has taught us over the years.
Water games.  In Alabama you don't get cold when you are wet, and you dry off really fast.  It was fun and refreshing to get wet, especially when Uncle Virgil held the hose.
The trampoline was a big hit, it was used constantly.  We decided to have a "girl time" and a "boy time" on the tramp, to prevent injury.
The Pobal Talent show was held on the big front porch.  Uncle Virgil amazed the kids with his diagram of a Fire Fly.  The kids had been catching Fire flies and keeping them in jars.  They were fascinated by the glowing light and wanted to keep it forever.  Virgil was able to explain how and why those little critters lit up.  Then, he put the poster diagram into the Pobal Auction the next day.

Elly and I doing our annual Pobal song.  I think we have more fun writing them and practicing them, then actually doing it.  I am glad my Sis has a good sense of humor and we can both be silly together.
Grandma gave Alyssa two books and doll for her birthday.  She even read her the book, which Alyssa enjoyed very much.  What a fun trip and fun reunion.  We were all sad when it came to an end.
