Camping Fun

We really like camping.  It is wonderful because you have a beautiful place to enjoy without the distractions of electronics!  The kids seem to get along so much better outside and we have more time to talk and interact together.
We have a great spot here that we love.  We used to drive around for over an hour deciding where to camp.  Now we go straight to our spot . What makes it so good is the fact that there is no one around us.  The kids love exploring on the rocks and hills around the campsite.
See the happiness radiate from these faces.  Camping is GREAT!

We bring our bikes up and the kids ride around our campsite.  Brea just learned to ride this summer and the soft dirt was great for her.  They really enjoy riding with Dad best.

Some of our camping food favorites: SMORES (of course), dutch oven potatoes, tin foil dinner, bisuits on a stick, dutch oven cobbler, and gourment camping breakfast with pancakes, eggs, bacon/sausage and hot cocoa.  Yummy!

The boys and their weapons - they had such a fun time outside.
The adults, which now includes Jackie and Katie, playing games.
Moms first time shooting - scary but kind of fun.
We found that what is even better than camping is to go camping with friends.  We had such a great time camping with the Stulls.  In fact, they are the ones that showed us this spot 3+ years ago.
The first day we braided all the girls hair in two praids, they were so cute and had a fun time playing and exploring together.
The boys had weapons, forts, sticks, and more.  They were enjoying their knifes and axes since they had a place they could use them.
The other benefit of camping, time to read a good book.  We don't seem to have much time for that at home, but out here there was time.
We all took our turn at shooting.

Jackie surprised us all by having amazing aim.  She shot the pop can (thanks Jeff) within the first three shots and then did it two more times.

Dirty kids at play - LOVE IT!
We tried a longer hike right before we left.  Alyssa couldn't make it.  Dallin, who had been complaining that he couldn't make it either, put aside his own thougthts and gave his little sister a piggy back ride.  They made it far enough for a good family picture and then turned around to go back to camp with Jeff while the rest of us kept going.
This cool tree, well stump, made a great backdrop for my cute 9 year old boy.
Our family up in the hills of Colorado!
Good friends mean so much, we are blessed to have them.
Jackie and Katie were so sad three years ago to have to say goodbye.  Now they are back together again and will enjoy it while it lasts.
DIRT!
